How GRP Roofs Handle Dulwich's Wet Winter Weather
A GRP roof can provide a continuous waterproof surface, but rain still has to leave through correctly formed drainage. Wet winter performance depends on outlets, upstands and the supporting deck as well as the laminate.
Check the route of rainfall
- Confirm that outlets remain clear and water reaches them effectively.
- Inspect wall junctions and rooflight details where water can collect.
- Investigate cracks or movement before prolonged wet conditions.
Persistent standing water needs a drainage assessment; adding another topcoat does not create the missing falls.
Preparation and handover matter
Ask the installer to identify the GRP system, its compatible substrate and the proposed treatment of deck joints, corners and trims. Suitable conditions are needed during application. At completion, retain the product details and photographs, and establish how the roof should be maintained and protected if another contractor needs access.
